For All Film
Photographers

Founded by Working Artists

This is a community that does more than just support you — it encourages technical understanding, thoughtful reflections, and peer collaboration to create more opportunities and advocate for photographers. Our mission is simple: make film photography accessible to artists everywhere, inviting photographers from diverse backgrounds and perspectives to gather in appreciation and progression of this slow art form.

We believe that the more we encourage sincere conversations and powerful artistic skills, the bigger the impact film — and your own work — will have.

Meet the Founders

As documentarians, we find it important to note that Gather Around Film was inspired by a simple observation. Film photographers (especially female artists) are often underestimated. We sought to create a community for every film photographer that doesn’t question artistry and skills, but accepts your work as it is. Our goal is to learn together, gathering around expert advice, a desire to create art, and a mutual love for a good photograph.

That composite, paired with the feeling of isolation, drove two photographers to create this community. They carefully tore down these limiting expectations in honor of the film pioneers who came before, like Dorothea Lange, Margaret Bourke-White, and Diane Arbus. This is the group they longed for, and a way to preserve the medium while supporting a new generation of artists.

Margaret Wroblewski
Photographer

An American photographer with an international upbringing, Margaret’s visual depictions of her subjects reflect her soul-deep love of how film captures things exactly as they are. With an eye for photojournalism, her portfolio of portraits and weddings has been featured in publications such as the Washington Post, NPR, and BBC.

Margaret holds a master’s degree in news media photojournalism and she uses film to document the lives of individuals, families, and couples. Home is the East Coast, and time with family is everything.

“We want to honor the legacy of photography through narration, film, and a championing of storytelling. Gather Around Film is about building a space where film photographers can gather, reflect, and shape the legacy of film photography.”

Caitlin Taylor
Photographer

Caitlin’s work as a photographer focuses on the artistic and nostalgic senses of film. Inspired by the fine arts, she uniquely frames the in-between moments and thoughtful details to shape painterly narratives for her brand. (Featured in The Friend Club, Anti-Bride, Together Journal, and more.)

Formally trained with a fine arts degree in painting and drawing and a minor in art history and photography, Caitlin combines classical techniques with innovative perspectives as a wedding photographer in Knoxville, TN and worldwide. She gardens, rescues animals, and enjoys a vegan lifestyle

“Throughout my years as a wedding photographer, I've found the wedding industry can be a challenging place to feel like you fit in. Gather Around Film was born out of a desire to change that feeling. My mission is to create an inclusive, collaborative space for photographers to learn from each other and alongside one another.”

Supporting Roles

Elis
Community Moderator

Elis is the connecting thread for Gather Around Film, ensuring that questions never go unanswered, conversations keep flowing, and members find the personal connections they need to thrive. As a wedding photographer and Super 8 filmmaker, Elis holds an associate’s degree in photography and brings over 15 years of experience to the table.

Originally from Brazil, her warmth and openness are part of everything she does, infusing our space with a sense of belonging. Now based just outside of Washington D.C. with her husband and dog, she finds balance in the quiet — walking among the trees, listening to the birds, and carrying the same attentiveness into her art and community work.

Autumn
Artist Curator

Based in New York’s Hudson Valley, Autumn brings 15 years of experience as a film photographer. Acting as a bridge of knowledge for the community, she sources and hosts our Artist Talks, leading conversations with industry leaders and facilitating roundtables that bring our members together around a shared topic.

With a BFA in film photography from Bennington College, her work is a love letter to the full range of the human experience. Her mentorship encourages photographers to embrace a slower pace, both in their craft and in their lives. Beyond the lens, you’ll find Autumn by the cool, gentle waters near her 100-year-old cottage, savoring life with her husband and three cats, slowly renovating the space to feel like home.
